1. Printing instructions

Step 1 Printing materials:

 

We design every part according to PETG material. PETG is strong and easy to print. It is the same material as printer parts.
All files are easy to print with PETG prusament. We used default PrusaSlicer material profile for PETG.

Number of spool:

For a basic set-up, you need 930 grammes of filament. Please take in consideration that in case of failed print, you will need more.
For a lot of mod, you will need 1700 grammes of filament.

Step 2 Printing parameters:

 

Layer thickness:

We recommend 0.2mm layer thickness.

Nozzle diameter:

All designs are made and tested with standard 0.4mm nozzle diameter. Printing with a larger nozzle will generate assembly issues.

Infill & perimeters:

For the 8 corners of the box: we recommend 60% infill with 2 perimeters OR 30% infill with 4 perimeters.
Other parts can be printed with 30% infill and 2 perimeters.

Supports:

Parts are designed to be printed without support.

Step 3 Printing files:

 

Files are organized:

  • “parts” folder: all stl of invidual parts.
  • “print plate”: ready to print set of parts (3mf)

On this page, we will explain wich parts you need to print depending of which printer and accesories you have.

Inside “parts” there is a “STEP” subfolder, which contains all CAD files and modification log. It is necessary only if you want to modify our design.

All files for ModularBox have a prefix “MB”.

 

Step 4 Corners, feet and logo:

For the 8 corners of the box: we recommend 60% infill with 2 perimeters OR 30% infill with 4 perimeters.

If you are not confident on bed adhesion, we recommend to use brim on vertical parts.

Logo plate is used on the top left, behind logo on metal frame.

Caribou plate is the one going on the top right.

Step 4 Air vent:

First file includes the 3 parts for side ventilation.

Second part is made to ventilate the motherboard.

This last can be replaced by two other ventilation possibility, you can find it on the EINSY board cooling mod (Work in progress…)

Step 5 Printer’s feet:

MK3s+ / MK3s: genuine Prusa dampers OR squash balls OR elastomer dampers (available on our shop here)

Bear kit / MK2: squash balls

Step 6A Control panel for MK3s display:

For a basic set up, you will need to print these two files : in the first one is the front and back parts for original Prusa LED mount, and in the second one is the cover for the right side of the front’s slot.

Step 6B Control panel for Duet display:

 

For a basic set up, you will need to print these two files : in the first one is the front and back parts for original Prusa LED mount, and in the second one is the cover for the right side of the front’s slot.

Step 7 Cable management:

First file includes parts to hide and secure cables from the LCD panel to the power supply and Einsi board, and fastener for vertical cable management.

Second file are parts to secure cable for L version of ModularBox.

Third file is the one for XL version.

Step 8 Doors:

First file are parts for closing system of the front door, with shared pieces beteween L and XL version.

Second and third files are rods depending of your version.

Step 9 PSU:
